About Camsco
Camsco began in 1991 with a simple but demanding mission: to supply thermal desorption tubes with the absolute consistency and tight tolerances required for the U.S. military’s Chemical Weapons Destruction Program. That early work shaped who we are today. It taught us that when quality and human safety matter, there is no substitute for precision, disciplined manufacturing, and near vertical integration.
More than 35 years later, we continue to build on that foundation from our Houston, Texas facility, serving environmental testing laboratories, industrial hygienists, government agencies, research institutions, and instrument developers around the world. As our customers’ needs have evolved, so have we. What started with thermal desorption tubes has grown into a broader range of VOC sampling and selective preconcentration products, including Automated Thermal Desorption tubes, DAAMS tubes, transfer tubes, cold traps, NOx filters, AgF pads, purge-and-trap traps, solvent extraction consumables, SPME-related products, and fittings, ferrules, and caps.
A big part of Camsco’s growth has come from listening closely to the people who use our products every day. Over the years, customers have asked us to solve one problem after another, and that mission creep has become one of our greatest strengths. Because we care about the small details that make a product perform well, we have been able to help shape practical solutions that labs can depend on.
That collaborative approach has also led to a number of industry-first and industry-standard innovations. These include V-to-G conversion tubes, ceramic barcoded glass tubes, stainless steel tube barcoding, custom solvent extraction tubes, improved purge-and-trap traps, upgraded silver fluoride pads, NOx prefilters, and full inert-coating capabilities for both tubes and internal components. We also helped standardize best practices such as preconditioning bulk sorbents, conditioning finished tubes, and active site mitigation.
By the numbers, Camsco has manufactured millions of precision sorbent tubes and traps, and has supported over 100 instrument platforms. But what matters most to us is not the number itself. It is the trust behind it. We aim to be the quiet, dependable partner behind the scenes, helping labs and instrument teams achieve accurate results with less trouble and more confidence.
Whether we are supporting EPA methods, helping a developer design a new instrument, or building custom multi-bed sorbent designs for a specialized application, Camsco brings the same values to every project: precision, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to solving real-world analytical problems.
Our Capabilities
What types of tubes does Camsco manufacture?
Camsco manufactures a full range of thermal desorption sorbent tubes including 1/4-inch stainless steel, inert-coated stainless steel, and glass tubes in standard and custom configurations. We also produce cold traps, focusing traps, DAAMS tubes, and specialty tubes compatible with instruments from Markes, PerkinElmer, Gerstel, Teledyne Tekmar, and others.
Does Camsco offer custom tube configurations?
Yes. Custom orders represent approximately 25% of our business. We can customize sorbent blends, tube lengths, tube diameters, capping options, and laser marking to meet your exact application requirements. Contact our technical team to discuss your needs.
What conditioning services are available?
Camsco conditions tubes to individual customer specifications. Conditioning removes trace impurities from the sorbent bed and ensures tubes are ready for immediate deployment. All conditioned tubes are sealed and tested before shipment.
What certifications does Camsco hold?
Camsco is certified to ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) standards.
How do I cross-reference tubes from another manufacturer?
Use our Competitor Cross-Reference tool on the Configurator page to find the Camsco equivalent for tubes from Markes, Sigma-Aldrich, SKC, Restek, PerkinElmer, and others.
